Additional Information
Leah joined us having completed bachelor's in biochemistry at the University of Maryland. She worked on a collaborative project with Richard Maraia's lab at NICHD/NIH, where she investigated the interactions of LARP proteins with decay and protein synthesis machinery. Leah acquired significant expertise working with challenging proteins and protein/RNA complexes. During her time with us, Leah learned how to combine AI-assisted structure predictions with biochemistry to investigate protein-protein and protein-RNA regulatory interactions. She contributed substantially to two research manuscripts. She is now a graduate student working towards a Ph.D. with Jan Lowe at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, U.K.
