Victoria Stepanyants received her Bachelor’s in neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University in May 2021. As an undergraduate, she investigated the role of the anterior insular cortex in threat learning by examining changes in neuronal signaling in a mouse model for psychiatric disorders such as PTSD and anxiety disorder. In the Krug lab, Victoria focused on using CRISPR editing to target latent Epstein Barr Virus infection. Victoria matriculated to medical school at the Cleveland Clinic in the fall of 2023.
