Work in our lab revolves around the virion proteins of a family of viruses called polyomaviruses. Our research ranges from basic investigation of the mechanisms through which polyomaviruses infect cells to translational development of virus-like particle vaccines. We also maintain an active interest in discovering new virus species, with the goals of uncovering human disease associations and understanding the evolutionary history of cancer-causing viruses.
