Our immunotherapy and drug therapy trials are for patients with recurrent or metastatic head and neck cancer, newly diagnosed HPV-positive cancer, olfactory neuroblastoma and recurrent respiratory papillomatosis. All clinical trial-related treatments and tests are provided at no cost, and no insurance is required. All treatments are given at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD, the world's largest dedicated research hospital.

The Head and Neck Cancer Team is a multidisciplinary group of physician-researchers with the mission of developing new treatments for head and neck cancers. Our ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgeons and medical oncologists conduct laboratory research and clinical trials, with a focus in immunotherapeutic approaches. The team aims to integrate research with clinical expertise to improve outcomes for patients with head and neck cancer.

Medical Oncology
Your NIH Medical Oncologist will work with your home cancer doctors to decide if an NIH clinical trial is the best recommendation for you.
Otolaryngology (ENT)
Your NIH ENT doctor will work closely with your NIH Medical Oncologist to care for you while you are enrolled on an NIH clinical trial, and will help with any associated biopsies or surgeries.
