Additional Information

Dr. Jihye Golino joined Dr. Porat-Shliom’s lab in June 2024 as a Postdoctoral fellow. Dr. Golino received her PhD from the University of Maryland, focusing on colon cancer research in Nutritional Science. She joined the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine as a postdoctoral fellow and received training about inducible pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). During her early years at NCI, Dr. Golino studied cancer stem cells in cholangiocarcinoma, particularly the interaction between cholangiocarcinoma surrounding immune cells in the tumor microenvironment and how the interaction affects cancer stemness and phenotypes. Currently, Dr. Golino is investigating liver cancer and biological function and structures of liver mitochondria using a combination of imaging approaches and molecular biology.
