Dr. Desai focuses on studying the signal transduction pathways in tumor progression and metastasis. She is studying the pathways in cholangiocarcinoma cell lines and patient samples by amalgamating the knowledge of bioinformatics, structural biology, and cell biology. She is planning to use state of art facilities like proteomics, genomics and metabolomics to target a specific pathway in the cancer patients. She is overall interested in designing a drug which could help elicit a better response in the cholangiocarcinoma patients with least side-effects.
