Research
Dr. Sinha’s interest is in global reprogramming events both at molecular and proteomic levels that drive tumor cell dissemination, dormancy and metastatic outgrowth. Dr. Sinha utilizes bioinformatic approaches and the lab’s gain-or-loss of function genetic screens to identify genes and upstream signaling events that dictate dormancy and metastatic reactivation of disseminated tumor cells. The long-term goal is to understand molecular and proteomic programs that dictate tumor cell phenotype, and develop targeted therapies that can induce perpetual dormancy in metastasis-initiating-cells (MICs).

Biography
Surajit Sinha, Ph.D.
Dr. Sinha received his Ph.D. in 2010 in biotechnology with specialization in molecular cancer research from National Center for Cell Science (NCCS), one of India’s top-rated premier research institutes. He joined Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as a postdoc in 2011, and trained under the guidance of Prof. Filippo Giancotti. Dr. Sinha’s scholarly work earned him the prestigious American Association for Advancement of Science (AAAS) sponsored membership for three years. Dr. Sinha serves as an editorial board member and peer-reviewer for several biological journals.
