RESEARCH SUMMARY
Saiful earned his Ph.D. in Medical Science from the Joint Research Center for Human Retrovirus Infection, Kumamoto University, Japan, under the supervision of professor Yorifumi Satou, where he studied both HIV-1 and HTLV-1 persistent infection. He joined Viral Recombination Section as a postdoctoral fellow in August 2020 and currently studying HIV transcription start site heterogeneity and its impact on HIV RNA functions by using high throughput sequencing technology.
Areas of Expertise
1) Molecular biology and virology 2) HIV-1 latency and virus-host interaction 3) DNA/RNA library preparation and targeted enrichment of NGS libraries 4) Next-generation sequencing and data analysis 5) Bioinformatics
