RESEARCH SUMMARY
Mary Anne Toledo-Tamula, M.A. is Psychology Associate, Senior Research Assistant in the Pediatric Oncology Branch (POB) of the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Mary Anne administers cognitive assessments to pediatric and adult patients enrolled on current study protocols within the POB and other NCI branches, as well as on select protocols from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). Mary Anne provides verbal feedback and written reports of evaluation results to families and adult participants. She assists families with implementation of educational recommendations and local mental health services and interacts frequently with members of the POB and NIH medical staff for coordination of care. She is involved in planning of assessment batteries, developing novel assessment measures, and preparing research results for publication. Mary Anne also oversees data management and prepares databases for research analysis or special projects.

Mary Anne Toledo-Tamula, M.A.
I have been working as a Psychology Associate, Senior Research Assistant for the Neurobehavioral Group for more than 20 years. This has given me extensive research and clinical experience working with chronically ill individuals ranging in age from infancy to adulthood. I see my role as one that supports the research efforts of the principal investigators. My responsibilities include administering cognitive assessments to patients enrolled on medical protocols with the National Cancer Institute and other NIH institutes, providing verbal feedback and written reports of evaluation results to participants, interacting frequently with members of the NIH medical staff for coordination of care, assisting families with the implementation of educational recommendations and local mental health services, and providing therapeutic services upon request.
