RESEARCH SUMMARY

Head and Neck Cancer (HNC) patients frequently exhibit amplifications and mutations within the PI3K/mTOR signaling pathway. The Nguyen Laboratory is dedicated to uncovering the intricate link between metabolism and its influence on the tumor immune microenvironment using advanced CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, spatial multiomics bioinformatics analysis, molecular biology techniques. Through insights derived from patient data, we strive to enhance the accuracy of pre-clinical HNC models and drive our understanding of the pathobiology for the development of novel therapeutics to improve immune checkpoint inhibitor effectiveness.
