Nicholas (Nick) Syracuse is a current CRTA Postbaccalaureate Fellow in the Surgical Oncology Program under the mentorship of Dr. Joe T. Nguyen, D.D.S., Ph.D. Nick received his undergraduate training at North Carolina State University and received B.S. degrees in Biochemistry and Biology, concentrating in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. During his undergraduate career, Nick conducted research in space biology, knowledge management, and scientific communication spheres. Currently, Nick aims to utilize spatial multiomics and cryo-EM applications in the Nguyen Laboratory to further investigate mTOR signaling pathways and better elucidate key structures such as mEAK-7/mTORC3. Upon completion of his training with the NCI, Nick aspires to receive M.D./Ph.D. training where his interests currently include cancer biology, cancer immunotherapy, and health disparities research.
