RESEARCH SUMMARY
Dr. James A. Cornwell is interested in developing tools to record and analyze single-cell dynamics in order to understand how cells respond to their environment. For his PhD, Dr. Cornwell developed methods to study how perturbations of the PDGFRα signaling pathway influenced cardiac stem cell growth dynamics. Currently, as a postdoctoral fellow in the Cappell lab, he is studying how single cells respond to DNA damage and how this affects their ability to progress through the cell cycle.
