RESEARCH SUMMARY
Dr. Halas is the head of the Surgery Branch T30 Cell Production Facility, a state-of-the-art cGMP facility dedicated to cellular therapy manufacturing and tumor processing for the Surgery Branch. She oversees a team of senior scientists and highly experienced technicians who assist in the development of all manufacturing processes. Her team manufactures the final experimental cellular product including Tumor Infiltrating Lymphocytes (TIL), CAR-T cells, and genetically-modified lymphocytes (TCRs) administered to patients enrolled on Surgery Branch clinical trials. In addition, she assists in the development of shared systems and process improvements for NCI SB manufacturing facilities with the aide of the manufacturing team, clinical team, regulatory and Quality Assurance groups to ensure the processes implemented to manufacture patient therapies are compliant with current standards and regulations.
