CCR staff receive NCI-NIA and Curie-NCI awards

NCI-NIA and Curie-NCI awardees

Congratulations to the CCR staff who have been awarded the NCI-NIA Joint Fellowship and the funding opportunity offered through the NCI-NIH and PIC3i Curie. A total of 5 projects were selected.

The intent of the new NCI-NIA Joint Fellowship Program on Cancer and Aging is to promote collaborations between NCI and NIA intramural investigators at the interface of cancer and aging. The award supports a postdoc in each PI’s lab for two years. The awardees are:

Avinash Bhandoola, M.S, B.S., Ph.D., CCR and Ranjan Sen, Ph.D., NIA - Controlling thymus function to improve adaptive immunity and cancer immunotherapy with age.”

Barry O’Keefe, Ph.D., CCR and Myriam Gorospe, Ph.D., NIA - “High-throughput screen of senolytic compounds from library of natural products.”

The objective of the NCI-NIH and the PIC3i Curie program is to promote collaborations between investigators from Institut Curie and the NCI-NIH intramural research program. The awardees are: 

Stephen Hewitt, M.D., Ph.D., CCR, Anish Thomas, MBBS, M.D., CCR and Yves Pommier, M.D., Ph.D., CCR, Elisabetta Marangoni, Ph.D., Curie, Celine Vallot, Ph.D., Curie, Marc-Henri Stern, M.D., Ph.D., Curie - Indenoisoquinolines for TNBC”

Sharon Savage, M.D., DCEG and Arturo Londono, M.D., Ph.D., Curie - “RNA & RTEL1”

Jennifer Jones, M.D., Ph.D., CCR and Clotilde Thery, Curie - “Immunogenicity of EV subtypes”
