Additional Information

Subhajit received his Biotechnology dual degree (Bachelor of Technology and Master of Technology) in 2017 from KIIT University, India. In his Master’s dissertation, he worked in Dr. Kundu’s Lab at the School of Biotechnology, KIIT University, India. After that, he was appointed by Dr. Kundu as a Junior Research Fellow in a DST-SERB (Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India) funded project. Subhajit joined the same lab in 2018 to pursue his Ph.D. His research mainly focused on the molecular signaling involved in Nectin-4 (a PVRL-4 encoded gene) mediated cancer angiogenesis and developing strategies to target Nectin-4 by using different in vitro, in ovo, and in vivo model systems. He also worked in the interdisciplinary domain of DNA damage and DNA repair to develop better cancer therapeutics. He was funded by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR, Govt. of India). In 2022, Subhajit joined the Laboratory of Cellular Oncology as a Postdoctoral fellow, where he works under the mentorship of Dr. Gabriel J. Starrett, studying Merkel cell polyomavirus-mediated chromatin interactions and genome instability.
