Dr. Kalinga Pavan Thushara Silva received his bachelor's degree in physics from the University of Peradeniya Sri Lanka and obtained his PhD from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. His PhD work focused on understanding the biophysical complexities that were emergent in bacterial populations communicating via multiple quorum sensing signals. Currently, as a Postdoctoral Fellow, he is working on understanding the genetic determinants that govern the distinct evolutionary trajectories leading to antibiotic resistance in Staphylococcus aureus.
