Chris Heron joined the Experimental Immunology Branch of the National Cancer Institute as a postbaccalaureate fellow in June 2023. He graduated with the highest distinction from the University of Virginia with a B.S. in Biology. During his undergraduate research, he studied potential regulators of the export of intron-containing RNAs in the context of HIV. Currently, he is investigating the tissue origins of innate lymphoid cells in neuroinflammation. Upon completing his training at the NCI, Chris hopes to pursue a Ph.D. in neuroimmunology or regenerative biology.
