David Gelikman is an NIH MRSP fellow and medical student at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from Cornell University in 2019. As a medical student, he has been chosen for multiple prestigious summer research scholarships including the Vanderbilt Medical Student Research Training Program (SRTP) and the Endourological Society Summer Student Scholarship which have allowed him to perform in-depth investigation in a variety of topics including pancreatic tumorigenesis, pediatric urology, and complex renal stone disease. His research has led to oral and poster presentations at notable conferences and has been accepted to numerous peer-reviewed medical journals. He is pursuing a career in urology and will be applying to residency during his final year of medical school. At the NCI, David is currently studying applications of artificial intelligence to detection of prostate cancer on MRI imaging under the mentorship of Dr. Baris Turkbey. His involvement spans multiple projects involving genitourinary imaging of urologic malignancies. In his free time, David enjoys photography, sketch comedy, and exploring all of the food options that D.C. has to offer.
