Dhruv K. Girish is a senior at Urbana High School and a dual-enrollment student at Frederick Community College in Frederick, Maryland. He is interested in research applications in clinical settings and hopes to bridge the gap between scientific discovery and tangible healthcare outcomes. He is a Werner H. Kirsten HS Student Program (WHK) Intern at the National Cancer Institute's Center for Cancer Research - Cancer and Developmental Biology Laboratory in Dr. Jairaj K. Acharya's lab, directly under the mentorship of Dr. Vishal K. Gupta. Dhruv has presented his work at NCI Frederick Poster Day and is a part of the Etch a Cell- Nuclei Explorer Project. His research has focused on the role of Natural Killer Cells in the development of hematological malignancies of various gene knockouts in in-vivo mice models.
