Additional Information

A Middletown High School Senior in Frederick County, Maryland, Zachary was selected to participate in The Werner H. Kirsten Student Intern Program (WHK SIP) at the National Cancer Institute at Frederick, a unique, one-year internship opportunity designed to expose high school seniors to research and administrative management in a health care environment. 

As a member of the Acharya Lab, Zachary is learning the basic principles behind some of the research undertaken by his mentoring colleagues. They include theoretical and practical aspects of laboratory methodologies, undertaking scientific literature surveys and delivery of scientific presentations. As well as the fundamental principles of documenting, testing and performing controlled biological experiments.
