RESEARCH SUMMARY

Dr. Machida is a molecular biologist investigating the effects of DNA damage on DNA replication. His current research focuses on DNA-protein crosslinks (DPCs), a type of DNA damage where proteins are accidentally crosslinked to genomic DNA. Dr. Machida’s group uses molecular and cell biology techniques to elucidate DPC repair mechanisms and employs mouse genetics to study tumori formation caused by unrepaired DPCs.

Areas of Expertise

DNA Repair
Genomic Instability Diesese
