RESEARCH SUMMARY
Wei Shao earned his Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of Tennessee and M.S. in computer science from Johns Hopkins University. He is a bioinformatics specialist and develops programs, pipelines, tools, and databases that are used by investigators throughout the HIV field. Wei developed and maintains the Retrovirus Integration Database (https://rid.ncifcrf.gov), Proviral Sequence Database (https://psd.cancer.gov), and HIVDRLink (https://github.com/Wei-Shao/HIV-DRLin). He received an NCI Group Merit Award in 2016 and a Leidos Outstanding Achievement Award in 2018.
