RESEARCH SUMMARY
Dr. Majumdar completed her Ph.D from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore under the supervision of Dr. Srimonta Gayen. She joined the Cell Biology of Genomes Group in 2024. Here she aims to understand how phase-separated condensates control chromatin looping. By using CRISPR-KO screening and high-throughput imaging she will identify factors contributing to stabilization/ destabilization of condensates in cancers and how that contributes to chromatin looping/ gene expression changes.
