RESEARCH SUMMARY

Dr. Kim received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the Seoul National University. He continued his education as a Ph.D. student at the University of Michigan, where he joined Andrew Ludlow’s lab to investigate alternative splicing regulation of the human telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) in aging and cancer. JJ joined the Functional Transcriptomics Section in January 2024 as a postdoctoral fellow. He applies functional genomics strategies to explore the interplay between stress responses and alternative splicing.

Areas of Expertise

Alternative Splicing, CRISPR-Screening; Cancer Genomics, Regulation of pre-mRNA Processing, Stress responses; Telomerase
