Postdoctoral Fellow (Visiting)
RESEARCH SUMMARY
Dr. Almansour earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry & Molecular & Cellular Biology from Georgetown University through the NIH Graduate Partnership Program and is now a Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Cancer Institute. He studies how DNA folds inside our cells and how that folding influences which genes are switched on or off. By creating new imaging methods, he can see both gene activity and DNA structure within single cells, offering a more complete view of how our genome works. While his research is grounded in basic science, it also points toward ways these approaches could be used to better understand and diagnose diseases.
