RESEARCH SUMMARY

Eva Agostino earned her B.S. in biological sciences from the University of Maryland at College Park.  During her undergraduate career, she did research on pathogenic O157:H7 E. coli outbreaks in Dr. Julie Kase’s lab at the FDA and SARS-CoV-2 entry in Dr. Meg Scull’s lab at the University of Maryland.  She is currently working on elucidating the inhibitory mechanism of a neutral sphinomyelinase-2 inhibitor on HIV-1 replication and the interaction between the gp41 cytoplasmic tail and matrix lattice during envelope glycoprotein incorporation.
