RESEARCH SUMMARY
Dr. Elena Tondini is a Postdoctoral fellow at the Experimental Immunology Branch of the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, MD. After completing her M.S. in Animal Biology and Disease Models at Leiden University, Netherlands in 2015, Elena spent five years working at the Leiden University Medical Centre in the Tumor Immunology group, led by Dr. Ferry Ossendorp. There, she investigated cancer vaccine formulations. She obtained her Ph.D. in Tumor Immunology in 2021, with her thesis titled “Cancer vaccine strategies to improve immunotherapy”. Upon completion of her Ph.D. in 2021, she joined Dr. Paul Roche’s group. Currently, she is studying cross-presentation and MHC class I trafficking in dendritic cells.
