RESEARCH SUMMARY

Dimiter (Mitko) Demirov earned his M.S. in organic chemistry from the University of Sofia and Ph.D. in biochemistry from Medical University, Bulgaria.  After postdoctoral training at NIAID and NCI, he held research positions in Bulgaria and Germany before joining Leidos at the Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research in 2017.  His current research is focused on using integration site analysis to understand the ability of the HIV reservoir to persist during effective antiviral therapy.
