RESEARCH SUMMARY
Andrea Ferris earned her B.S. in biology from Virginia Tech and M.S. in biomedical sciences from Hood College. Prior to joining the Hughes lab in 1987, she worked on endocytosis and membrane trafficking in mammalian cells. Her HIV DRP projects have involved developing and using avian (the RCAS system) and mammalian retroviral vectors. She played a key role in developing integration site analysis for both HIV and the SIV/macaque model system.
