RESEARCH SUMMARY

The dynamic nucleoprotein complex chromatin dictates various physiological functions of the cell. There is a gradual but significant change in the structure and integrity of the chromatin as the cells age resulting in a modified epigenetic landscape and thereby altered gene expression. Sweta is interested in deciphering the roles of histone variants in regulating chromatin structure during cellular senescence and in cancer.
