RESEARCH SUMMARY
Dr. Doran is a medical oncologist with an interest in adoptive cellular therapies. She collaborates with other researchers within the Center for Immuno-Oncology (CIO) to create new treatments using immune cells for patients with a wide variety of cancers including human-papillomavirus (HPV)-associated malignancies (e.g. cervical, anal, and head & neck cancers), breast cancer, and other solid tumors. Dr. Doran treats patients on early-phase clinical trials using new immunotherapies.

Research
Dr. Doran conducts early-phase clinical trials using T-cell based adoptive cellular therapies in patients with solid tumors. She works closely with scientists and other clinical investigators within the CIO to investigate multiple facets of adoptive immunotherapy, including identifying new targets for T-cell receptor (TCR)-engineered therapies, mechanisms of tumor resistance/escape, and ways to improve safety of treatments.
Biography
Stacey Doran, M.D.
Dr. Doran graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Biology and Spanish from the University of Kentucky and earned her M.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. She completed two years of general surgery residency at the University of Cincinnati before spending three years as a National Cancer Institute (NCI) Surgical Oncology Research Fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Christian Hinrichs conducting translational research on T-cell therapies for HPV-associated tumors. Dr. Doran then completed internal medicine residency at the University of Maryland and medical oncology fellowship at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). She joined the Center for Immuno-Oncology (CIO), NCI as an Assistant Research Physician in 2023.
