RESEARCH SUMMARY
Dr. Yang research interests include studies of pancreatic tumor biology, primarily addressing the role and mechanisms of miRNAs, inflammatory mediators in pancreatic cancer progression and disease aggressiveness. These avenues are investigated through integrated analysis of genetic and molecular profiling of PDAC patient cohorts, as well as functional characterization using cell lines, genetically engineered mouse model, and human pancreatic cancer patient-derived organoid.

Biography
Shouhui Yang, Ph.D.
Dr. Yang received his Ph.D. degree in Cell Biology from Peking Union Medical College & Tsinghua University, Beijing, China in 2012. He then moved to United States and was trained as a postdoctoral fellow at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and subsequently at the Laboratory of Human Carcinogenesis at NCI. He was promoted as a Staff Scientist for the Pancreatic Cancer Section in 2019. Dr. Yang is the recipient of NCI Presentation Award for Outstanding Research in the Field of Pancreatic Cancer and Treatment and NIH Award for Research Excellence.
