RESEARCH SUMMARY
Dr. Silveira’s main goal is to understand how the presence of specific microbes within the tumor microenvironment may influence host-microbiota interactions and be associated with primary liver cancer patients’ outcome. As part of the Graduate Partnership Program, Maruhen completed his PhD in the Laboratory of Human Carcinogenesis in 2021 and started his postdoctoral fellowship in 2022. He is motivated to disseminate knowledge and use science to help people.
