RESEARCH SUMMARY

Li obtained her PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2017. Her doctoral research primarily focused on the role of chromatin controlling gene expression programs in mouse stem cells and early development. Currently, Li is committed to unraveling the complex relationship between enhancers and cell type-specific gene expression programs in the human pancreas. To achieve this, she is delineating enhancer-promoter interactions in purified pancreas cells obtained from organ donors. Li's dedicated efforts aim to contribute to the advancement of therapeutic approaches targeting diabetes and pancreatic cancers
