RESEARCH SUMMARY

I am a Research Fellow in the RNA Biology Laboratory at the National Cancer Institute. I completed my PhD in Molecular Biophysics from Indian Institute of Science, India in 2014. I crossed the pond to work in Prof. Sarah Woodson’s lab at the Johns Hopkins University for my postdoctoral research. In November 2020, I joined the team of Translational Control of Gene Expression, where I am investigating misfolded and non-functional rRNA decay in human cells to understand how functional state of ribosome is linked with translational regulation.

Areas of Expertise

Ribosome Biochemistry
Protein Synthesis
RNA Quality Control
