RESEARCH SUMMARY

Hannah LaPoint is a post-baccalaureate CRTA fellow in the Hager lab of the Laboratory of Receptor Biology and Gene Expression at the National Cancer Institute. She graduated with a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Pennsylvania State University in 2023. During her undergraduate studies, she completed research at Penn State’s Center for Molecular Toxicology and Carcinogenesis and at NIDA’s Genetic Engineering and Viral Vector Core. Hannah’s current study, guided by Diana Stavreva, involves the investigation of hormone receptors and target gene response to constant and ultradian hormone stimulation at a single-molecule level. After completing her fellowship with NCI, she hopes to pursue a career as a physician-scientist.
