RESEARCH SUMMARY

Cedric Castrogiovanni obtained his Ph.D. at the Universite catholique de Louvain in Belgium under the supervision of Prof. Patrick Dumont and Prof. Olivier De Backer. During his Ph.D., he focused on studying how post-translational modifications of p53 control its localization to mitochondria during apoptosis. Seeking to broaden his expertise in cell biology, particularly in cell division, he pursued a postdoctoral stay in the laboratory of Prof. Patrick Meraldi at the University of Geneva in Switzerland. There, he studied the kinetochore fibers of the mitotic spindle.

In 2023, Cedric joined Dr. Shalini Oberdoerffer's lab at the National Cancer Institute as a Research Fellow. In this role, he aims to study how the ac4C RNA modification modulates translation.
