RESEARCH SUMMARY
Investigating the role of immune-endothelial signaling in lung regeneration, with a particular focus on cytokine signaling after influenza infection. This project will work to determine the role of immune signaling in endothelial plasticity after lung injury and define its beneficial and pathological effects on lung regeneration. The signaling mechanisms may be broadly applicable to immune-endothelial interactions within the lung and have the possibility to contribute to future therapeutic development for lung disease or lung cancer.
