CCR PI Profile Content

Welcome to the Center for Cancer Research (CCR)

We are excited to have you join our team as we strive to improve the lives of all cancer patients by solving important, challenging and neglected problems in cancer research and patient care. As a new investigator, you will need a web profile. Your web profile is one of the most important tools for communicating your research activities and qualifications. It will help you recruit talent, find collaborators and recruit patients.  For examples of investigator profiles, visit https://ccr.cancer.gov/staff-directory/principal-investigators.

By completing this form, you will provide us with the essential content required for your profile. To the extent possible, the content on your profile should incorporate “keywords,” (i.e., words that a searcher might type into an internet search to find your content).

  • Please fill out this form as completely as possible.
  • Mandatory information is denoted by an asterisk (*).
  • You are able to save your work and update the form in more than one sitting. Click the "Save Draft" button at the bottom of the form and return to the form link when ready.
  • Please submit the completed form no later than 2 weeks before your expected start date.

Research Information
This section of your profile provides users an introduction to you and your research interests.  It should be brief; no more than a couple of sentences. Including words and phrases that closely align with your research is important to improve your findability via search engines such as Google. Repetition and plain language is helpful and encouraged. The first sentence(s) are displayed in search results and should contain your most important keywords. See the question mark tooltip for an example.
Areas of Expertise
Using the list below, please choose one distinguishing area of research that best aligns with your work.
Describe the research studies that you plan to conduct as an investigator, including the goals of each project (1-3 paragraphs). If you are a clinical investigator, describe the clinical trials that you plan to conduct. If you will be directing both clinical studies and laboratory research, describe the goals of each and how these complement each other (i.e., bench-to-bedside; bedside-to-bench).

Don’t forget to use keywords to help guide users to your site when they search. Don’t be afraid to use subtitles and lists to help readers who are browsing.

NIH Intramural Scientific Focus Areas
