• COCA-Intl.’s mission is to strengthen the international community of camps for children and their families. The forum consists of over 65 member camps within the United States, and nearly 100 camps total from around the world. COCA-Intl. meets annually at a conference hosted by a member camp.

• The Locks of Love mission is “to return a sense of self, confidence and normalcy to children suffering from hair loss by utilizing donated ponytails to provide the highest quality hair prosthetics to financially disadvantaged children. The children receive hair prostheses free of charge or on a sliding scale, based on financial need.” Locks of Love is not part of any religious, political, or for-profit entity.

• Wigs for Kids is a non-profit organization providing hair-replacement solutions for children affected by hair loss due to medical conditions. The website includes information on hair donations, personal stories, and more.

• Provides free or low-cost wigs to women and girls who have lost hair due to chemotherapy.

• Dreamflight (UK)
• Dreamflight is a registered charity that offers seriously ill children a trip to Orlando, Fl, USA for 10 days, without their parents. A team of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and volunteers supervise the children 24 hours a day.
• Kids Wish Network (USA)
• Kids Wish Network’s mission is to infuse hope, create happy memories, and improve the quality of life for children. It is a nationally recognized charitable organization. Programs include Wish Granting, Holiday of Hope Gift Banks, and Hero of the Month.
• Make-A-Wish Foundation (International affiliations)
• Mission: “[To] grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.” Make-A-Wish Foundation has 80 chapters across the USA and 22 international affiliates on 5 continents. The program grants a wish every 40 minutes.
• Starlight Foundation (USA)
•  “Starlight Children’s Foundation has been dedicated to improving the quality of life for children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses and life-altering injuries by providing entertainment, education and family activities that help them cope with the pain, fear and isolation of prolonged illness.” Programs include family activities and outings, in-hospital entertainment technology, online communities and interactive websites, in-hospital playrooms, kid-friendly treatment rooms and special events, and educational programming.

• Air Care Alliance (USA)

“The Air Care Alliance is a nationwide league of humanitarian flying organizations whose volunteer pilot members are dedicated to community service. This site will introduce you to us and to all the groups we list whose volunteers perform public benefit flying for health care, patient transport, disaster relief, educational experiences for youth, environmental support, and other missions of public service.”

• Air Charity Network (formerly Angel Flight America)

Air Charity Network is made up of independent charity organizations that arrange free air ambulance flights for patients and families in need.

• American Airlines – Miles for Kids in Need

The Miles for Kids in Need program provides transportation for children and their families, as well as for organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life for children with needs. Flights are based on donated air travel miles.

• Corporate Angel Network (CAN)

CAN arranges free air transportation to cancer patients traveling to treatment. US organization.

• Mercy Medical Airlift

Mercy Medical Airlift’s (MMA) mission is to ensure that no patient in need is denied access to distant specialized medical evaluation, diagnosis or treatment for lack of a means of long-distance medical air transportation.

• This site for teens with cancer provides information on nonmedical topics, from skin and hair issues to fitness and friends.
• Cancer Kids
• This site tells the personal stories of children fighting many different types of cancer.
• Captain Chemo
• This interactive site provides children the opportunity to learn about cancer through fun, interactive computer games, based off of comics created by a young boy who had cancer
• Chemo Angels
• Children can apply to be “adopted” by a Chemo Angel who will provide support and encouragement throughout treatment with cards, notes, and small gifts.

• Common Threads provides children in low-income families healthy, easy, and cost-effective tips for obtaining proper nutrition while teaching children the importance of healthy eating.

• Look Good… Feel Better is a hospital-based public service program that provides resources and programs from teens with cancer to deal with issues related to appearance, health, and social aspects of cancer treatment.

• This guide touches on a number of pertinent points, including how to balance studies with disease management. It also lists a number of scholarships specifically for students dealing with illness - an important feature considering the financial aid pitfalls these students sometimes encounter.

• The Ashley Founding provides assistance to teens affected by cancer through educational and supportive programs, such as scholarship money for college and teen resources for hospitals.

• The Children’s Cause is a patient advocacy group that is dedicated to empowering and supporting young adults who had or still are living with cancer.
• The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults
• The Ulman Cancer Fund provides support programs, education and resources for young adults with cancer, as well as their families and friends.
• Young Adult Cancer Canada (YACC)
• To build a community of young adults diagnosed with cancer that provides information, support, skills and opportunity.
• Young Cancer Spouses
• The emotional and logistical issues a young spouse of a cancer patient faces are vastly different from spouses of older cancer patients that dominated oncology units and support groups. Young Cancer Spouses strives to bring together other spouses to share ideas, lend support, and validate their wide range of feelings and emotions so they can find comfort in an understanding community.
