RESEARCH SUMMARY

My research interests are focused on 1) the biology of prostate cancer bone metastasis, and 2) the treatment of metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer.

My research projects are carried out using clinically relevant mouse metastasis models of prostate cancer developed with LuCap-PDXs. Four (4) metastasis models have been developed with three (3) androgen receptor positive adenocarcinoma LuCap-PDX lines, and one AR negative neuroendocrine LuCap-PDX line. The AR positive LuCap-PDX lines predominantly metastasize to bone, and result in osteolytic, osteoblastic, and mixed bone metastases respectively. The AR negative LuCap-PDX line mainly metastasizes to the brain and the spinal cord.

My current work has been devoted to the pathological and molecular characterization of these models using IHC and scRNAseq. In addition, these models have been used to understand the mechanism of castration resistance and to discover effective therapeutics targeting mCRPC.
