Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a talented communicator to join our team and be part of the effort to find cures for cancer. We are looking for a creative, team-oriented communications professional with strong writing skills to publicize our research advances, employment and training opportunities and clinical trials program. Work involves production and readership analytics of a bi-weekly internal newsletter with circulation of more than 3,000; writing and editing a variety of stories and announcements; tracking a wide variety of embargo dates and status of events, scientific publications and media inquiries; managing digital screens, covering internal on-site events, disseminating internal communications and developing social media and other content for communications tactics.

This opportunity will provide hands-on work as part of a busy team with broad exposure to the workings of a busy communications operation. Must have a bachelor’s degree in communications, bioscience, public health and/or related field. Full-time position, business hours. Salary range is $40-45K, depending on education and academic excellence.
About the NCI Center for Cancer Research
The Center for Cancer Research (CCR) is home to nearly 250 basic and clinical research groups located on two campuses just outside of Washington, D.C.
