Research
My research interest is to better understand how alternative splicing is regulated and to study the involvement of alternative splicing in diseases. In my study I combine molecular biology, biochemistry and imaging-based methods to address these questions.
Biography

Asaf Shilo, Ph.D.
Dr. Shilo received his Ph. D. degree from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, where his study focused on the involvement of splicing factors form the HNRNP family in hepatocellular carcinoma in the lab of Prof. Rotem Karni. During his Ph.D studies Dr. Shilo was granted several awards including “Buster award for cancer research” and “the Israeli cancer research award”.
Dr. Shilo joined Dr. Tom Misteli's lab at the NCI in 2016. His study focuses on how alternative splicing is regulated in physiological conditions and in different diseases.
