Haneen Shalabi receives The Children’s Cancer Foundation Next Gen Award

Haneen Shalabi, D.O., of the Pediatric Oncology Branch received the 2017 Next Gen Award from the Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc. (CCF) during the CCF annual gala on November 4, 2017.

Haneen Shalabi, D.O., a Physician in the Pediatric Oncology Branch, received the 2017 Next Gen Award from the Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc. (CCF). As the highest award CCF presents to individual researchers, the Next Gen Award recognizes young investigators who are committed to pursuing a long-term career in pediatric oncology research. According to Dr. Shalabi, “This award will be used for our dual-targeted chimeric antigen receptor T cell trial and will assist in providing resources to analyze a number of biological correlates associated with relapse prediction models and antigen escape mechanisms. I am very honored to receive the Next Gen Award from CCF to continue my research endeavors and further the field of immunotherapy for pediatric hematologic malignancies.” Recipients are selected by the CCF Medical Advisory Review Committee and awards are presented at the CCF annual gala. The 2017 gala took place on Nov. 4, 2017.
