A funded postdoctoral position is available in Dr. Martin Schnermann’s laboratory within the Chemical Biology Laboratory at the National Cancer Institute, Frederick, Maryland. The group develops new approaches to cancer imaging and drug delivery. The focus of this position will deal with the synthesis and testing of small molecules for use in the development of antibody drug conjugates (ADCs). The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in small molecule synthesis and an interest in working on biologically oriented problems. The fellow will gain excellent experience in complex molecule synthesis, antibody conjugation, ADC characterization, in vitro characterization and optical imaging. Additionally, the fellow will work closely with researchers to apply these ADCs in preclinical models. These efforts seek to apply insights obtained through imaging-oriented efforts to the discovery of new payloads and linkers (please see these recent papers for key background: PMID: 34928588, 35389618, 35801843).
