Tom is researching circulating tumor DNA and optimizing protocols for detecting the genetic mutations associated with prostate cancer. 

Tom graduated with honors and a President’s Award from Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts with a bachelor’s degree in biotechnology.  His undergraduate thesis was studying the proliferation rate of breast, cervical, and bone cancer within various concentrations of gelatin methacrylate, a synthetic extracellular matrix.   He is interested in carrying his passion for serving and interest in understanding the human body to medical school; he later hopes to work with the World’s Health Organization or Center of Disease Control in developing nations.
