Research
The CCR-Frederick Flow Cytometry Core is a dedicated resource for CCR investigators located at the National Cancer Institute at Frederick (NCI-Frederick) who are doing basic research. The Flow Cytometry Core is embedded in the Cancer Inflammation Program (CIP). Services include:
- analysis and/or sorting of stained or transfected samples,
- assisting investigators in experimental study design, and
- user training.
To serve the research needs of CCR-Frederick investigators, the Core maintains 7 analyzers and 3 cell sorters. Instruments range in complexity from 1 laser with 3 fluorescent detectors to 3 or 5 lasers with 19
fluorescent detectors. Instruments are upgraded frequently to meet the demands of more complex analyses aimed at defining precise cell populations and as novel applications are developed.
