Biography

Dr. Hughes completed her undergraduate education at Providence College in Providence, R.I. She attended medical school at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia (EVMS). Her subsequent general surgery training was completed at EVMS in Norfolk, VA in 2002. Her surgical oncology and endocrine fellowship training was completed at the National Cancer Institute, NIH. Since 2004, Dr Hughes has been a member of the Surgery Branch Senior Staff. Her academic appointment is as an assistant professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences.She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
