Biography

Dr. Cheng is a staff medical physicist in the Radiation Oncology Branch. He is board certified in therapeutic medical physics from the American Board of Radiology. Prior to joining the National Cancer Institute, Dr. Cheng was a scientific reviewer at the Food and Drug Administration's Center for Devices and Radiological Health. He received his Bachelor of Art from Boston University in physics and chemistry, Master of Science from University of Southern California in chemical engineering, and Doctor of Philosophy from University of Maryland, Baltimore County in applied physics. Dr. Cheng has also received postdoctoral training in therapeutic ultrasound at University of Cincinnati and in radiological therapeutic medical physics at the National Cancer Institute.
