NMR Facilities
The SBL operates a range of high-field, state-of-the-art spectrometers corresponding
to resonance frequencies ranging from 500 to 850 MHz. We have both Varian and Bruker
spectrometers, and cryprobes are available at all frequencies. The research groups
of Dr. Byrd and Dr. Wang share the spectrometers, and the 500 MHz spectrometer
is available to other groups within the Molecular Discovery Program.
The NMR instruments are managed by
Dr. Janusz Koscielniak, who provides oversight for all technical (console
and probes) and computational aspects (spectrometer workstations). There is a well-equipped
electronics shop and a limited fabrication/machining capability.
User training is handled by the user groups of Drs. Byrd and Wang, and introductory
aspects as well as troubleshooting assistance is provided by Dr. Koscielniak.
